Margueritte Johnson was born February 11, 1911 on a farm in Fillmore, Township the daughter of Henry and Lucy Huber. Margueritte had 10 siblings 7 brothers and 3 sisters, 3 brothers and 2 sisters are deceased. Margueritte married Everett Johnson December 8, 1933. They were blessed with 3 children, Everett, Kenneth and Imogene. Kenneth and Imogene are deceased. She has 12 grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. Margueritte attended school in Witt, Illinois for 9 years. She left school in 1927 at the age of 16 moving to Chicago. She worked as a telephone operator 3 years. She then moved to Indiana to work as a telephone operator there. She went to work in an Armour dressing chickens in Lincoln, Illinois. Margueritte  has also worked in a Garment Factory, Dime Store, and 6 years at Stetson China Factory making dishes. At the age of 80 Margueritte worked for the Golden Circle Nutrition in Nokomis, Illinois for 3 years. Margueritte loves to Bowl, Fish and Play Cards. She still drivers herself around. . Margueritte made a 4000 mile trip out to the western states seeing most of them, she has also been to North and South Dakota, Maine and Ontario Canada. Margueritte lived in Florida moving back to Nokomis, Illinois after the death of her husband in 1976. She now lives at Parkway Apartments. You can see her at the center any time the cards are out.
